Peter Robertson is an author and journalist, educated at King’s College, Cambridge, who previously worked as a linguist for a number of United Nations organizations including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization. In addition to fiction, which has been published in several languages, and critical articles, he has published literary translations of many authors including Pierre de Ronsard, Eluard, Rubén Dario, Maurico Wacquez, Jorge Edwards and Rosalia de Castro. He also translated Nelly Perazzo´s "La escultura de Susano Lescano" (The Sculpture of Susan Lescano) from Spanish into English. In 2007 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and in 2008 a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. He is a member of PEN, and The Society of Authors. His translation of Jorge Luis Borges’ “La Metáfora” is to be included in Jorge Luis Borges´ ”On Writing”, edited and with an introduction and notes by Suzanne Jill Levine, and to be published by Penguin in June 2010, and his translation of Leopoldo Lugones’ “El ángel de la sombra” will be published by Quattro Books in October 2013.
