Tina Shaw is the author of five novels for general readership: Birdie (1996, David Ling Publishing), Dreams of America (1997, David Ling Publishing), City of Reeds (2000, Penguin Books), Paradise, (2002, Penguin Books), and The Black Madonna (2005, Penguin Books). She held the University of Waikato Writer-In-Residence in 2005, the Creative New Zealand Berlin Writers’ Residency, Germany (2000-01), and the Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellowship, Auckland (1999). Since 2005, Tina has been publishing in the children's educational market, and for young adults. Her 2009 novel, About Griffen's Heart (Longacre Press), is a 2010 Storylines' Notable Book.
