Stephanie Johnson is the author of three collections of short stories, two volumes of poetry and eight novels. She has also written for stage, radio, television and film and has been the recipient of various awards and fellowships, including the Deutz Medal for Fiction in the Montana Book Awards (for The Shag Incident, 2003), the Bruce Mason Memorial Playwrights Award, the Auckland University Fellowship and the Katherine Mansfield Fellowship. Several of her books have been published in the United States, Britain and Australia. For ten years, Stephanie was the co-Creative Director of the Auckland Readers and Writers Festival, which she founded with writer and film maker Peter Wells in 1999. |
