Tim Tomlinson was born in Brooklyn, grew up on Long Island, where he left school at 15 to begin a life of wandering that’s taken him to, across, and under many islands in the Caribbean, a half-dozen nations of Europe, countless hovels of the US, and numerous locations in Asia. He’s an avid scuba diver, a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor, and a Master Teacher of Writing with NYU’s Global Liberal Studies, for whom he’s taught in London, Florence, and (soon) Shanghai. He’s a co-founder of New York Writers Workshop, and co-author of its popular text, The Portable MFA in Creative Writing. He’s taught at the University of the Philippines, Webster University in Thailand, and with the Media Development Authority, Singapore. His fiction and poetry have appeared in print and online in many venues, including The Missouri Review, North American Review, Pank, Underground Voices, and the anthology Long Island Noir (forthcoming, Akashic Books) to name a few. He lives with his wife in New York City.
