Jim Stewart was born in 1952 in Dundee, and has lived all his life in Tayside and Fife, Scotland. He received A Scottish Arts Council New Writers Bursary in 2006. He teaches literature part time at the Universities of Dundee and St Andrews, and co-teaches Creative Writing at Dundee University with the novelist Kirsty Gunn.
