Jonathan Dunne translates from Bulgarian, Catalan, Galician and Spanish. His translations of authors such as Iana Boukova, Manuel Rivas and Enrique Vila-Matas have been published by Random House UK, Shoestring Press, Europa Editions, New Directions and Overlook Press and nominated for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize, the International IMPAC Award and the Oxford-Weidenfeld Prize. He studied Classics at Oxford University, lived in Spain and is currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he translates and and co-directs the publishing house Small Stations Press. He has written a study of word connections in the English language The DNA of the English Language (2007) and one collection of poetry Even Though That (2004).
