Sara Besserman was born in 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She received a BA in English with Departmental Honors, and minors in German and Linguistics, from Truman State University in 2010. During her time at Truman, she presented research papers at various conferences, including the sixth annual Monsters and the Monstrous Conference at Mansfield College, Oxford University. She also worked as a writing consultant at Truman's Writing Center. Sara is currently pursuing her Master's in International Relations through Webster University's Global program, which entails study in five different countries over the course of 11 months. Though she tends to write mostly academic and research papers, she thoroughly enjoys creative writing, especially short fiction.
