Amy Brown's first collection of poems, The Propaganda Poster Girl (VUP, 2008) was shortlisted for the Jessie Mackay Best First Book of Poetry category at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards in 2009. Amy is currently writing a book-length poem, thus far titled The Odour of Sanctity. This will form half of her PhD thesis on contemporary epic poetry, which is supervised by Professor Kevin Brophy at the University of Melbourne. When she isn't working on her thesis or tutoring, Amy writes children's books. Jade and the Hunters, the third in the Pony Tales series, will be released by HarperCollinsNZ in July 2011.
