Paschalis Nikolaou was born in Alexandroupolis, northern Greece, in 1979. After studying linguistics and literature at the University of Hertfordshire, he completed an MA and Ph.D. in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia, under an Onassis Foundation scholarship. Essays on aspects of translation studies have appeared in edited volumes such as Translation and Creativity (Continuum, 2006 – ‘Notes on Translating the Self’) and Translating and Interpreting Conflict (Rodopi, 2007 – ‘The Troy of Always: Translations of Conflict in Christopher Logue’s War Music’). His writings as a critic and translator, as well as poems, have appeared in The London Magazine, Modern Poetry in Translation, In Other Words, Etchings and The Wolf . He is also reviews editor of the translation journal mTm. With Maria-Venetia Kyritsi, he has co-edited Translating Selves: Experience and Identity between Languages and Literatures (Continuum, 2008), and with Richard Berengarten, The Perfect Order: Selected Poems 1974-2010 by Nasos Vayenas (Anvil Press Poetry, 2010). He is currently a Lecturer in Literary Translation at the Ionian University, Corfu, Greece.
