Gustavo Bossert (Rosario, 28 May, 1938) is an eminent jurist who was a member of Argentina’s Supreme Court from 1994-2002. He has held many academic posts, including as Professor of Law at both the University of Buenos Aires and at the Pantheon-Assas University in Paris, and has acted as the President for the Latin American Academic Committee at the International Judicial Academy, based in Washington D.C. As a jurist, Bossert played a key role in the bill that in 2006 was to result in prison sentences for those found guilty of sexual harassment in Argentina. Transcending his achievements in the legal world, Bossert has forged a parallel career as an author, and has published highly acclaimed novels including El atropello (1995), Los sirvientes (2001), El rey petizo (2005) and Acoso sexual (2006), as well as numerous collections of short stories. In 1987, he was the recipient of a prize from Fondo Nacional de las Artes.
