Sheila Puri has had short stories published in a range of journals and literary anthologies including Chapman 105, New Writing Scotland 15 and 18, Glasgow Kiss, and A Fictional Guide to Scotland. She came joint second place in a writing competition run by the Scottish Booksellers Association. She has also had a short-story, Doors, broadcast on BBC Radio. She is currently working on a novel based in Glasgow about Gurbachan, an ailing ex-wrestler, his wife, Kushintala, and her faltering friendship with Gordon, a boy from the local council estate. She was a recipient in 2004 of a Scottish Arts Council Grant for writers.
