Rodge Glass is originally from Cheshire but has lived in Scotland since 1997. His first novel, No Fireworks, was published in 2005 by Faber and Faber and was shortlisted for four awards. His second novel was also published by Faber and Faber, in 2008, shortly followed by 'Alasdair Gray: A Secretary's Biography' which was published in 2008 and won a Somerset Maugham Award in 2009. Rodge is currently Lecturer in Creative Writing at Strathclyde University. His next projects are 'Dougie's War', a graphic novel published by Freight in May 2010, and he is editor of a new collection of Scottish short stories, 'The Year of Open Doors', which will be published by Cargo in July 2010.
