Hazel Frew was born in 1968 and grew up in Broughty Ferry on the east coast of Scotland. She graduated from The University of Glasgow in 1991 and after a brief spell with The Glasgow Media Group started writing poems and short stories. Her poems have been widely published in magazines including Orbis, The Rialto, Painted, spoken and New Writing Scotland. Her pamphlet, Clockwork Scorpion was published by Rack Press in January 2007 and launched very successfully at the Swedenborg Hall in Bloomsbury, London. Seahorses, her first full length collection of poetry, is published by Shearsman Books. She lives in the west end of Glasgow.
