David Goldie teaches in the Department of English Studies at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. He is the author of A Critical Difference (1998) and is the editor, with Gerard Carruthers and Alastair Renfrew, of Beyond Scotland: New Contexts for Twentieth-Century Scottish Literature (2004) and the forthcoming Scotland in the Nineteenth-Century World. He has published articles on poetry, popular culture, and cultural history in a number of book and journals, including The London Review of Books, Critical Quarterly, The International Journal of Scottish Literature, and The Review of Scottish Culture.
