Charles Lambert was born in Lichfield, England, and currently lives near Rome, Italy. He is the author of many novels, short stories, and the memoir, With a Zero at its Heart, named one of The Guardian’s Ten Best Books of the Year in 2014. In 2007, he won an O. Henry Award for his short story, “The Scent of Cinnamon.” His most recent novel, The Children’s Home (Scribner), was published in January 2016.
