Dear Guest,

As the President of The International Literary Quarterly, I am delighted to welcome you to Issue 11 of the review.

With regard to new additions to Interlitq's editorial team, the review’s Board of Editors would like to take this opportunity to welcome Beatriz Hausner, the highly-regarded Canadian poet and literary translator, who will act as General Editor of The International Literary Quarterly with effect from Issue 11, and who is sure to prove a tremendous asset to the review. The Board of Editors also wishes to introduce the following distinguished literary and intellectual figures, all of whom have kindly agreed to act as Consulting Editors of Interlitq: Laurie Maguire, Molly Peacock, Élisabeth Roudinesco, Rebecca Swift and Susan Tiberghien.

In terms of contributions to Issue 11, I hope that you will enjoy the profound and lyrical poetry of Luis Cernuda, Christine Crow, Paul Scott Derrick, Paulette Dubé, Tomás Harris, Susan Kelly-DeWitt, Peter McCarey, Vivek Narayanan, Tessa Ransford, Sue Reidy, Daniel Shapiro, Rebecca Swift, Yassen Vassilev, Alan Wall and Tamar Yoseloff; the compelling prose of Sally Cline, Philippe Jaccottet, Pierre-Albert Jourdan, Deborah Moggach, Georges Perros, John Taylor, Stephen Wilson and Karen Zelas; and the trenchant criticism of Sarah Glazer.

Furthermore the project, “Volta: A Multilingual Anthology” continues to gather pace, the poem Volta by Richard Berengarten, dedicated to the memory of the Greek poet, George Seferis, having now been translated into 93 languages, with new renditions by Naira Bepieva, Tsead Bruinja, Harrison Cheng’oli Misiko, Hezekiel Gikambi, Esma Kokoskeria, Paul Letiwa, Jeckonia Otieno, Synnøve Rodal, Fernando Sánchez Pitarch and Muhamad Tawfiq Ali.

And, last but not least, all of these texts have been complemented perfectly by the arresting and evocative artwork of Catherine McIntyre, Guest Artist for this issue of Interlitq.

I very much hope you will enjoy Issue 11 of The International Literary Quarterly, and would like to take this opportunity to send you my warm wishes from the Argentine winter.

Peter Robertson

Estimado Invitado,

Peter Robertson
