when   flesh

falters  stumbles
through its wires  its
cells – so many

rubber cubes
jittered  in adjacency
that  follows

outdated laws
cause-effect  shunts
bone into  in

small soft
spaces  the new
trumpets

blasted
through mind
where  nothings

remember as  sharp
&  cellular those
fuse-wires

fire  sleeved
& swilled in
human  oil

this vehicle
still doing  the job
that four-stroke  heart

peaking  almost out
of petrol &
raised

from  wheel
to face  one hand
shaking

Moon

might walk among us
delta-face deep creased
streaming marine

butterfly brains
in awe of all that
shifts or is breezy

unmoved by spectacles
the hoisting of presidents
content to knock a long

bone cane along the dark
hoping for some angle
a cornered shadow

that waning mind might
wax – magnesium halo
pacing stoop-slow

under small sun’s sodium
coaxing fox or ghostly
ass into viscous

streets’ planetary perfume
whose emptily spun
light is the story

in him we flicked up
& out – sovereign gold
that stops full & open as

a head at its zenith
– our trick of gravity
to draw him down

chemistries

in my slab –
cellared  soils  that c-
limbed into  shape   so

they might whiff  their own
tinctures – secret
litmus book

thought
peels & shifts
colour to
               while this bone
turret  squats behind
sockets : reasons
blossom

utter
black  thinking my
carbon  phosphorus   sulphur

might be fractioned  jarred
so I could one day
recombine

but earth
makes organs  singly
walks them out  wholly believing

no  body exists to explode at
death’s bell  or
run down

corridors
pallid  fumbling  some
catch
                       though   kindling
together may be that
Stone  liquid

-heavy  flame
slopped hand to hand
along the gene-line  quenching

white water  small blood  I pass
on  as permanganate
perhaps in

purpling  error
staining time : glass
-eyed  wanderer brought to

all fours  who jigsaws then  sc-
ours over &over  its
one truth
