Mia Watkins was born in England in 1980, grew up on Waiheke Island and currently lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She completed a degree in English Literature at Otago University in 1999. She then left New Zealand and travelled before settling in Oxford for a couple of years where she worked in a bookshop and completed an adult English teaching qualification. During this time she had work published by Ver Poets and Awen Short Story Quarterly. Upon returning to New Zealand she worked in a variety of jobs including orchard and factory work, English teaching and employment brokering. She has work published in various places including community and student papers and Landfall. She has a three year old daughter and has just started Teachers' College. |
