Mary Caponegro has a new collection of fiction from Coffee House Press, entitled All Fall Down. She is also the author of Tales From the Next Village, The Star Café, Five Doubts, and The Complexities of Intimacy. She has taught at Brown, Rhode Island School of Design, Hobart & William Smith, Syracuse University, and is currently Richard B. Fisher Family Professor of Writing and Literature at Bard College. “Back to the Garden” is an excerpt from her novel-in-progress called Chinese Chocolate.
