As a writer, Judith Dell Panny has devoted herself to the work of others. Her books include Turning the Eye: Patricia Grace and the Short Story (1997, LincolnUP/Brasell), I Have What I Gave: the Fiction of Janet Frame (revised 2002 edition, Dunmore), John Bevan Ford: Paintings (2004, Bateman), Plume of Bees: a Literary Biography of C.K. Stead (2009, Cape Catley). Her creative output was limited to poetry until last year, when she began writing stories – a pursuit she has found enjoyable and satisfying.
Teaching at secondary level was followed by the tertiary teaching of literature in New Zealand and at German universities.
A mother and soon to become a grandmother, Dell Panny lives with her husband in the Manawatu. |
